About a month before everything hut down my dear friend Emily and I had an absolutely amazing styled shoot at Aldridge Gardens! The whole think was a boho elopement dream. I honestly cannot believe I never blogged about it! This little slice of beauty that happened at nearly the last moment it could have, is a bright spot in my 2020 for sure.

My sister is one of the many graduates of the Class of 2020 who missed out on a proper senior year and close of a chapter. She's taken it all in a stride tho and I'm so proud of her. Our church and her work both took steps to honor and acknowledge their seniors and make sure they felt special. It was wonderful to get to see her community come around her and celebrate even if it was from a safe distance. While we took the first half of her senior photos way back in September while on family vacation (hey remember when those were a thing?), the plan had been to do cap and gown photos in Downtown Birmingham. That clearly didn't work out.

A month ago, you know back when our biggest worry was the never ending rain, I took advantage of a random sunny and dry day to take Baby A's four month photos! I would be another week before he turned four months officially, and now as I'm writing this he's nearly five months and has already changed so much! Babies tend to do that after all lol.
Taking Your Own Newborn Photos
Apr 01, 2020
A friend of mine posted an instagram story with a list of things she'd been considering attempting while isolated due to Covid-19. Among these was taking newborn photos of her brand new daughter. I immediately responded to this, telling her to absolutely attempt it! She shouldn't lose those precious photos to this virus. As I message back and forth with her, offering advice and even sending along some example photos of my own baby it occurred to me that she is not the only one in this boat.
