Secret Garden Styled Shoot | Hamilton Place | April 15, 2019

This past spring I got to collaborate on a styled shoot with my dear friend Emily of Emily Rose Photography. When we started dreaming up this shoot we knew we wanted lots of flowers and color. As we built our amazing team of vendors, this initial idea exploded into an absolutely gorgeous Secret Garden themed shoot. We wanted something that was full of magic and whimsy, and I think we achieved just that. I’m absolutely in love with this shoot and I’m so excited to finally share it with you all.
Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms, one can certainly imagine that they’ve stepped into the gardens of some private estate. The ballroom itself is bathed in light from its breathtaking windows. It was in this ballroom that our amazing team put together the most perfect tablescape I have ever seen. From it’s wildflower arrangements, to the flowers embroidered on the tablecoth, the garden was certainly brought indoors through their hard work (and maybe just a little bit of magic). Vintage style tableware in beautiful pinks and golds brought the perfect finishing touch.
Our wonderful couple’s real life love story brought our narrative to life. The bride carried a cascading waterfall bouquet, honestly the most amazing bouquet I’ve ever laid eyes on. Her loose updo centered around a gorgeous flower crown, and her makeup featured the most perfect pops of pale pink. The dress, with its airy tulle skirt and lace bodice, was an absolutely wonderful mix of the whimsy and elegance that flowed through the whole shoot. The groom was dashing in his dark grey suit and pink floral tie.
If you followed my socials leading up to this shoot, you may have noticed that it also included some DIY projects, namely the cake and piecing together the invitation suite. It was so much fun to pull together all the extra little details and work with this amazing vendor team. All the hard work put into this shoot really paid off in the end, and it was perfect mix of magic, whimsy and elegance one would expect in a secret garden.
